Justice for Nyxo

Following the fatal poisoning of a wildlife scientist's much-loved dog in Northern California, the Center for Biological Diversity and allies have launched a reward fund for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the illegal killing of the rescued labrador retriever mix named Nyxo.

Laboratory results revealed that Nyxo died after he was intentionally fed meat by an unknown party. The rat poison brodifacoum was also in the dog's body. Nyxo's owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, is one of our country's foremost researchers studying the dangers of brodifacoum poisoning on endangered wildlife, such as the Pacific fisher and northern spotted owl.

"Nyxo was a handsome rescue dog that accompanied us on many research projects," his owner said. "Whether we were studying the mountain yellow-legged frog or spotted owl, he always had an inquisitive demeanor and vigorous spirit while joining us on conservation projects."

Please help us find the person who poisoned Nyxo. Use the form below to donate generously today to our Nyxo Memorial Fund for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the illegal killing of this cherished dog. Your kind donation will also help our efforts to ban dangerous pesticides that threaten wildlife, people and pets – including the one that killed Nyxo.

Please make a note for us if your contribution is in honor of Nyxo.
