Down to the Wire in Copenhagen

In less than 48 hours we’ll know a lot more about whether there will be a future for low-lying nations like the Maldives, people living along vulnerable shorelines, coral reefs, polar bears, pika, penguins, and the myriad other species urgently threatened by global warming. We need to keep up the pressure right now!

As you read this, President Obama will shortly board Air Force One for Copenhagen, where he will address the conference tomorrow. Please take just one minute to speak up: Call the White House at (202) 456-1111 and tell President Obama the current U.S. target of reducing global warming pollution — 4 percent below 1990 levels by 2020 — is a disaster. We need him and the United States to lead by pledging reductions of 45 percent below 1990 levels by 2020.

Our planet’s future depends upon it.
